I know some folks would argue that the right desugaring is not a variation on a LendingIterator returning and yielding impl Future, but should be based on a new trait AsyncGenerator which returns and yields Poll instead. Those designs aren’t meaningfully simpler than what I’m showing here, but are also fundamental broken because they do not support propagating async cancellation.
